At TRP we believe that children are eager to learn, and they learn by doing. That’s why our preschool program stresses the importance of hands-on learning techniques that help build self-confidence and encourage children to explore the world around them in new ways. Our teachers provide plenty of individual attention to students with different needs, and parents are welcomed to be involved in many aspect of our program. In addition, our teachers create activities that combine fun and education to promote a love of learning in your child early on.
The curriculum for our program is based on the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards for Preschool Children. English Language Arts Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. These standards are statements that describe the knowledge and skills young children should learn, with adult guidance, before entering kindergarten. At TRP we use these standards as one of many tools to help our children achieve success inside and outside the classroom. The Hand Writing Without Tears curriculum is used in all of our classrooms. This program uses techniques and activities that help improve a child’s early self-confidence, pencil grip, and body awareness skills, multi- sensory techniques and consistent habits for letter formation are used to help all children learn handwriting starting in preschool.
Our curriculum also reflects our Christian beliefs, through Bible stories about Jesus relationship and love with people. We will lean that God expects us to follow important rules, such as love your neighbor and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We say a prayer during morning group time and before snack, and lunch daily.
