PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This program is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. Readiness for Kindergarten will include, but is not limited to, letter sounds and letter recognition, number recognition and number concepts, counting, sorting, classifying and matching activities, and learning addresses and phone #’s. Children will be introduced to a letter of the week. They will begin expressing their thoughts and writing skills through journal writing. Children are able to express themselves through building, art, music, language, large muscle time and dramatic play. The classroom will provide experiences for cooperative play, problem solving, following two and three step directions and participating in large and small group experiences, and to use words to solve problems respectfully with their peers and teachers.
